The KAPA HyperExome Probes are Roche’s brand new Whole Exome Sequencing solution (WES), based on the next generation KAPA Target Enrichment Probe’s technology. Newly developed and designed to provide broad, relevant database coverage and high sequencing efficiency, to increase coverage in hard-to-sequence regions (NGS) for a more uniform and complete exome.
Performance data: Better by design for higher result confidence
- Utilize a whole exome sequencing solution (WES) with exceptional exon coverage of genes and variants from CCDS, RefSeq, Ensembl, GENCODE, ClinVar for maximal coverage of regions of medical research relevance in an efficient capture target size of just 43 Mb
- Achieve better genome sequencing coverage of the important medical research content for less repeats and higher result confidence

High performing KAPA HyperExome Probes for superior uniformity and sequencing efficiency
- Obtain uniform coverage across the GC% range for better genome sequencing efficiency
- Experience the finest balance of high on-target rates with high uniformity for better and deeper target coverage
Fig.2: Normalized capture coverage per GC 5% bins. KAPA HyperExome Probes showing more optimal use of sequencing by minimizing regions that are less covered or regions getting more reads than really needed. KAPA HyperExome Probes (capture target 43 Mb) sequenced at 60 M HQ reads and supplier X at 51.2 M HQ reads, proportional to its smaller capture target (36.7 Mb).
Fig.3: KAPA HyperExome Probes showing higher % of reads on-target that together with higher uniformity deliver deeper median coverage and increasingly better target coverage at 30x, 40x or 50x. KAPA HyperExome Probes (capture target 43 Mb) sequenced (NGS) at 60 M HQ reads and supplier X at 51.2 M HQ reads, proportional to its smaller capture target (36.7 Mb).Fig.4: KAPA HyperExome Probes shows better uniformity by a lower Fold 80 base penalty than Supplier X’s Exome. (Fold 80 shows the fold amount of additional sequencing to bring 80% of the target to the current mean coverage, lower is better).
