KAPA Universal Adapter

Material Number: Select a variation

KAPA Universal Adapter is a truncated adapter used during ligation-based library construction for sequencing on Illumina® instruments. A pair of unique, 8-nucleotide sequencing indices (barcodes) are added by PCR for use in single sample or multiplexed sequencing applications.

The KAPA Universal Adapter has been manufactured by duplexing (hybridizing) two oligonucleotides and is designed to ensure high library construction ligation efficiency and low adapter-dimer formation.

KAPA Universal Adapter

The KAPA Universal Adapter is a short (truncated) adapter for next-generation sequencing (NGS) on Illumina platforms. It carries T-overhangs and ligates to the library fragments after the A-tailing step. Sample barcodes are incorporated during the following library amplification step prior to target enrichment.

The KAPA Unique Dual-Indexed (UDI) Primer Mixes are to be used with the KAPA Universal Adapter to generate uniquely labeled libraries from individual biological DNA samples.
Each KAPA UDI Primer Mix is a pre-mixed combination of forward and reverses primers.

This adapter has been manufactured by duplexing and is designed to ensure high library construction ligation efficiency and low adapter-dimer formation.

This Roche Sequencing product is part of the validated KAPA HyperCap workflow & KAPA HyperPETE Workflow, a streamlined, automation-friendly solution that integrates KAPA’s high-efficiency DNA library preparation kits with the KAPA Target Enrichment Probes (Exome and Custom).
